The Barberton registration takes place on the Friday afternoon at the Rugby Club from 14:00- 19:00 and there will be lots to eat and drink up for sale for the duration.
Going back to tradition, we have decided to host a rider briefing on the Friday evening at 18:00 in the big marquee that is being pitched at the rugby club - right next to the bar and big screen! It's not compulsory as we know some riders will have already registered, but if you're planning on collecting your race pack in Barberton, it'll be cool if you could schedule it around the briefing time and hang around a bit - and perhaps even grab a pasta dinner there.
Riders will receive pre-race briefings sent via email, but there's going to be a great vibe at Coronation Park on the Friday and it's a wonderful opportunity to rub shoulders with participants and share war stories leading into the following day.
Marquees with enough seating will be pitched at every stage stop-over and the breakfast and lunch menus have received a nice face-lift from last year - not that they really needed it, but some small surprises with extra fruits, juices and dried fruits will round things off nicely. Each stop-over will also have well stocked tuck shops with enough eats and drinks on sale for families and supporters.
The Barberton Rugby club are really going all out to support the event in every way. The start/finish venue will boast lots of vendors on race day, including Biltong sales, ice cream, a full bar and an array of well prepared hot take away meals. They are also putting up a big screen in the bar which will show the day's Tour de France stage on Friday and Saturday afternoon. There will also be jumping castles for the kids.
There will be neat and warm shower facilities available for riders in the rugby teams' change rooms for men and women once you've crossed the finish line.
We urge families and other support vehicles not to get stuck behind the race on the various stages as it creates a huge back log on the roads and really clogs things up for the locals. Rather get to the finish and await your loved one there.
All 3 Stages - Includes breakfast, lunch, free t-shirt and a goody bag.
Stage 2 and 3 - Includes lunch after Stage 2 and a goody bag.
